Seamaster
The brand's longest continuously produced collection
The Seamaster has existed longer than any other Omega line. It began as a rugged everyday watch, evolved into a professional diver, and has been James Bond's watch since 1995.
The evolution of the Seamaster
The Seamaster launched in 1948 to mark the brand's hundredth anniversary, drawing on water-resistant watches Omega had built for the British armed forces during the Second World War.
In 1957 the Seamaster 300 arrived as a professional diver with a rotating bezel, part of the trio alongside the Speedmaster and Railmaster.
In 1993 Omega introduced the Seamaster Diver 300M with its signature wave-pattern dial and helium escape valve at ten o'clock. From GoldenEye in 1995 onward, it became James Bond's watch.
The Seamaster Planet Ocean extended the line upward in 2005; since 2015 most models have carried METAS Master Chronometer certification.

What to look for when buying
- 01
The Seamaster is affordably priced while remaining technically current — for many, the best entry point into a mechanical dive watch.
- 02
Vintage Seamaster 300 examples of Ref. CK2913 form a distinct collecting field with sharply risen prices.
- 03
On 1990s Bond references, inspect the aluminium bezel insert. Faded or damaged inserts are common.
- 04
Models from 2018 onward, with ceramic dials and laser-engraved waves, represent a clear step up in finishing over their predecessors.
