Pelagos

Titanium, 500 metres, uncompromisingly technical

The Pelagos is the brand's most technical dive watch: a titanium case, helium valve, ceramic bezel and a folding clasp with automatic spring adjustment.

History

The evolution of the Pelagos

In 2012 the Pelagos appeared with a 42 mm titanium case, a matte dial and Snowflake hands in pure tool-watch spirit.

In 2015 it gained the in-house calibre MT5612 with COSC certification and 70 hours of power reserve.

In 2016 came the Pelagos LHD, with its crown on the left side of the case and a red date display — a nod to naval dive watches.

The Pelagos FXD, without a rotating-bezel mechanism, arrived in 2021 as a watch for the French navy, followed in 2022 by the smaller Pelagos 39.

What to look for when buying

  1. 01

Titanium is light but shows scratches clearly; even satin finishing is a mark of quality.

  2. 02

The clasp's automatic spring adjustment should be function-tested, as it is a known service item.

  3. 03

The LHD variant is numbered and trades above the standard version.
